Just been watching the ATR replay at Belmont. Does the fact conditions are muddy mean they haven`t sealed the track ? And if so does that mean it will be more of a stamina test equivalent to soft on turf ?

The track has been sealed and then some....

With an on-and-off drizzle all morning and early afternoon, the track is muddy and sealed today at Belmont Park, with more rain expected before the Belmont Stakes is run at 6:35 p.m. The track condition has to raise some concerns as Ripples n' Waves broke down in his right front leg in the stretch and was vanned off; his condition is unknown, but it did not look good.

So far, all the turf races have stayed on the turf
