It's your tough luck, but they made an error so the race should be refunded to be fair to all.
Report Boogie Cat March 14, 2011 9:43 PM GMT
your wrong. they made an error so they should pay
Report thecanadian March 14, 2011 9:46 PM GMT
but the money has to come from those on the other side of your trade and it's not fair to them if they considered the "reversed" runner in their analysis....or so the thinking goes.

I understand why you are frustrated but dem de rules.

im not talking about them paying, betfair should pay me.

if i make a mistake & back the wrong horse i stand the loss, i fvcked up, simple.

if your gonna make money from taking peoples bets, you should pay if you fvck up, not as if they cant afford it.

betfair facilitates the exchange of trades, they are not a bookmaker

I understand why you are upset, been there done that, but the rules are rules

the market was incorrect = VOID

this has happened to me twice in 2 weeks. just doesnt seem fair thats all.
betfair never loses out but their customers do lose out for their mistakes, thats wrong no matter which way you look at it
Report jock1953 March 14, 2011 10:11 PM GMT
i just wonder if any of there staff get reprimanded for tis error
Report Boogie Cat March 14, 2011 10:20 PM GMT
probably the same person who closed the market at louisiana last week 5 minutes before the start & returned all bets. this is becoming weekly occurrence.
Report thecanadian March 14, 2011 10:21 PM GMT
agree, the service is dreadful
Report Boogie Cat March 14, 2011 10:26 PM GMT
betfair has such a monopoly, they do as they please. theres nowhere else to go. they'd soon shape up if they had rivals.

i bet the winner thought i had won 1500 pound looked in my statement no bets were there ,,,,i know rules are rules but ,,,,,what actually happened  what was withdrawn ....and why just no reduction
Report Boogie Cat March 14, 2011 11:04 PM GMT
they took the 1a out instead of the 1. of course because they made this mistake its only right that they dont pay any consequences. we pay for their mistake & thats betfair for you.

boogiecat,

cant believe you bet into a market where the wrong runner had been ommitted to start with

ludicrous stuff!!
Report winstonsmith1984 March 17, 2011 1:42 PM GMT
this isn't the first time it has happened, nor will it be the last, 1.01.  Incompetent market managers....and who pays for it?

Best thing to do when you see it is put up a warning thread on the forum and stay out of the market.  They always void the market in these cases.
Report slydog123 March 18, 2011 11:22 AM GMT
Actually betfair does lose in this case as well ie their 5% commission from your winnings.

Also one has to side with betfair because it is in their terms and conditions. Before betting, if you don´t agree with this policy, then don´t bet at betfair. It´s not like they are hiding this policy.

I understand your frustration, it has happened to me as well. It is just unfortunately any website would do the same thing that betafir does in this case, whether they are a large site or a smaller site.

thecatateitiatethecat you are a tool of the highest order.

of course i didnt check if theyd taken the right horse outLaugh. i actually thought betfair employees may be able to accomplish that task. ffs.
