Just spent 2 weeks down south, 1 at Tampa and 1 at Oaklawn.
These are good tracks to visit and the visual horse appearances give a punter bigger edge than playing on computer. Tampa track a great place with nice sunny seats railside, free parking and $4 ice Heinekins. The town is affordable with golf, tennis beaches etc.
The real suprise of the journey was a lil ole track in Hot Springs Arkansas,Oaklawn. If you want to see America's love for horseracing, go visit his track not some swinehole like Vegas or Santa Anita. 70,000 people attend the Arkansas derby here in a town of 50,000 population. The day I left monday 25,000 went and it took me an hour to get out of town. Some very nice court places to stay downtown for about 50 a night. And some great Rueben sandwiches and get this, Oysters in the shell to be had concession wise
