here read this

Betfair's global head of security Adrian Asher

"The London Stock Exchange (LSE) is not as big as us. We do more transactions per second, we do it in real-time settlement, and we do transactions 24 hours a day," he says, with some pride. "The LSE has the luxury of end-of-day trading. It can back up, maintain, and upgrade its systems. We're a 24/7 operation, so for us to have an hour to be able to just stop the world while we upgrade would be a luxury."

ocean, thanks for the response, no need to do a search. I thought you may have something at your finger tips that you could share.

I'm in M&A and trade the FTSE and F/X markets, I'd be shocked if your statement turns out to be true.

Not a big deal though, carry on.

Thanks for posting that. ocean. I just can't see how Mt Asher's statement is possible but I'll take his word for it.

Cheers.

ocean, thanks for posting the link, I will spend more time with it tomorrow. At a glance though, if the data is correct, the chart is suggesting Betfair is more active (transactions wise, not money wise) than LSE but less active than NYSE or CME. If I'm reading the chart right....

Thanks for posting.
