Couldn't believe the jock - as they came into the home straight - he looked behind and saw the gap by the rail & he had a ton of his under him.
I thought he was going to send it up the rail and then sat for a bit and didn't push - only for the leader to tire and literally drift onto the rail and block his horse - when he had enough horsepower to kick on and dart throught the gap and win the race.
The jock then very nicely let his ride follow the tired horse - only for the rest of the field to pass him on the outside - I bet when the jock retires that will not be on his highlights tape !
And before my stalker(the canadian) chips in - no - I didn't have a penny on the race !

personally don't think it was unlucky, just watched it again and it was tanking along, then the jockey steered it into the back of the other horse , then if you look closely it looks like the jockey is reigning the horse back truly awful ride.

^ maybe the horse or jock wasn't brave enough to go through the gap...like i said, this seems to happen a lot on the turf...one reason i ignore turf races.
