Asmussen post race RA quote: "Obviously I'm discouraged," said trainer Steve Asmussen, who trains Rachel Alexandra for owner Jess Jackson. "I don't run a horse to get beat by any means. Especially a horse like Rachel. But it would not be very effective to have any knee jerk reactions to this."
Despite the loss, Asmussen put a positive spin on the race. "I thought she was very comfortable, nice and relaxed, she's just not quite as fast as she was last year," said Asmussen. "She was steady today but not quick. I don't see any reason for her not to ultimately be as explosive as she was last year. She's just not there yet and it's possible this is somewhat of a hangover from her hard campaign last season." |

I've had a big bet on 6 Tampa.

paradox, the horse in question is Awzaan. However it's only run at 6f and with the rain getting in at Newmarket, stamina could be a problem. However it's unbeaten and a horse called radiohead is running somewhere in the US tonight on turf, (perhaps you could help there?) Anyways Awzaan has already beaten radiohead as a 2yo and radiohead was only beaten 4L in a 750k race in the US, so the form may be furher enchanced tonight...

Could u tell me what price RA went off at? |
|

Thanks Stew, pass my regards to Oil. I will have a look. I'm not sure it's a race I would get heavily involved with this year anyway.
Thanks. |

No probs paradox, his PC is down as was his cellnet at the weekend (T.Mobile). Reckons he will be up and running tomorrow. I speak to him on the phone from time to time and he was happy for you to get the message. Not a bad judge. (on occassion!!)
