I know this 8 should win at Penn....it really could be good value at 2.4, but I am taking a stab on the only one I think sits in the garden spot if 8 falters late, and that 3. Backed it 12.0. Happy to watch 8 win with someone elses money

my strong views of the race are: a) do not bet any horse that needs the lead to win (there are 5-6 of them...lay them ALL! and b) I bet Ice Box on here at 43.0 to win the FLA Derby, and a few times antepost....but the race draws closer I have become more interested in Jackson Bend and DUBLIN. Especially Dublin. Tough, runs all day, and Lukas...one last hurrah??? Reminds of some of his other GR1 winners.....does not stand out, but shows up big when it counts. (Charismatic, Cat Thief, Commendable etc, etc, etc). Looking at Lucky is tough, too, and I like him...but his figures have not progressed from 2-3. Can't lay...but won't back. The filly is very very good, but this is too much to ask. Awesome Act, I am sorry to say, does not fit the bill....could not outrun Jackson Bend after travelling so strongly last time..... I know he's bred to run farther, but to me he looks like a miler. Those are my thoughts. :

its fantastic. But I always start on the Mint Juleps too early in the AM (10:00) so by race time I am either exceptionally ornery, or excruciatingly over-sentimental when they sing that song..... My Old Kentucky Home.............

Its funny Markey the way a punters mind works. I have workrd for a few racing yards, and i am lucky enough to be given the odd tit bit. Last year i was given one that was only going to be beaten if "a Sniper was on the roof at Newbury" so said the trainer(P. Makin) as i was at work, i phoned B/F and asked for £500 a win. When he told me he could match 102 at 240/1 i could not believe it (20 runners, and fav odds on) i cut my bet to 50 a win and 30 a place at 56/1. THats the reason i was at the Maldives for 3 weeks

Rouge, i still have nightmares, about what might have been. The owner won almost 500k , with a bit of smart betting. And i cut my bet down (What a plonker) !!!!!!

At the time, to get the 500 on ,i would have only got about 175/1 for the lot... As i said, it was a Stoute hot pot, odds on , in a 20 runner hot Newbury Maiden.. If it had been any other race, it would have been single figs

The joke is I've won and lost so much dough on here over the years I could have done the Maldives several times over. Never had a biggy to withdraw in a lump though. Same for most I would guess!
