I lay 40-50 horses a day....and back 1-2 'special' ones.

mark 40-50 a day surely you can't read all the form on those?

I'm laying all the 2nd favs 30 secs before the off to a Maria staking plan. I only allow 2 races on the go so i miss a few if bets unsettled. been experimenting for a while and this hits the high 80's % so profit comes. I stop loss at £40 and I stop win at £50. I dont study any orm at all.

what your strike rate mark.......shiit thats alot of form reading even if your at it fulltime

I lay a lot of horses in the double-digit ranges, with a sprinkling of low-odds favorites. So my strike rate is in the mid 90s (on US lays). There truly are some horses who are so severly compromised by things: draw, rider, trainer, ability, willingness to win, as to render their chances practically nil. YEt, you will sometimes see them as low as one horse - last night at MNR - who was even money. It is hard work, and involves incredible patience and disciipline.

mark try to lay the shorter olds....that why maybe only 4 lays a day

4 is good. I DO have 3-4 'key' ones, at lower odds. But I like to take the small bits of 20 and 30 and 40.0 horses too, esp when its really just impossible for them to win and only the 'Beyer Speed Figures', or perhaps misguided stable money in the tote, is keeping their odds from going up to 500+. :)

i am looking to build bank but i only have around £24 in account, in fact the way things are its essential so i wouldnt have minded some help, what do u think of arsenals system whereby he waits to see projected odds on tote and if the betfair odds are 3 or4 pts higher just before off he lays them?
i had limited success following this last nite til a 10's horse won, yet arsenal said hed gone from 200 to 5 000 odd bank...makes me think i may have done something wrong

hi tony the best way to edge your odds really is download the cards, and have a good study of the form... what we really need is a few people where they are say good on mount and santa and another that good gulf and so on it impossible to study every card but if you break it down among a few people,and then pass that on its possible to find a few gems in a bucket of umwashed stones.

not offering any service, and have been on betfair alot longer than 10 months... also been betting for 18 years including trading currency...on fx trading. also just getting a few guys that are interest in laying horses in the us racing. so how doe's that make me offering a service, comment by all means but please do not try to mislead other forum reader.
