So i have just finally become a permanent resident of the usa, and i am currently living with my wife in Texas. In March i inherited 250K from my father's will and after all had gone through it was paid into my Halifax bank current account. What i would like help with is this - What is the best way to move the money from halifax account to my CHASE joint account in the usa which we have just opened. Serious answers please cheapest most secure way of doing this. I am coming back to the UK in May but would like have this sorted by then. Thank you.

It's prudent to seek advice from the bank. You do not have to accept or agree with it. Then go to  a financial advisor with a reputation. Or you'd ask Martin Lewis. I'm sure he'll not diddle you.
