Thought it might be interesting to have a thread where we post what we hold, what we're buying and what we're selling so we can bounce ideas off each other, share tips and hints and generally have a but more discussion on a very quiet forum.
I'll start:
I hold Tesco, Herencia Resources and Fastjet (I started buying about 2-3 months ago).
Strategy:
To buy individual shares of companies who will grow long term (at least 5 years, probably more 10-15) and invest in companies which will flourish based on future trends. For example, Herencia has zinc-silver-copper advanced exploration with decent feasibility study results. There is forecast to be a zinc shortage about the time they want the mine to begin production. I also see silver increasing in price dramatically over the next 10-15 years based on Chinese demand. Silver is a vital part of electronics and of course, solar energy which I expect to be used more widely very soon.
Lloyds purchased @ 26.58 now 74.12 Vodaphone purchased @ 164.95 now 198.35 BP purchased @ 392.00 now 457.95 St Modwen purchased @ 220.17 now 317.50
I do not intend to sell and I do not intend at the moment to purchase anything else. I'm just doing it for a bit of fun with money I am not bothered about.

My strategy at the moment has been to cut down on bonds a bit and take some risk, which has paid off so far. If some decent retail bonds come up, I'll take the profits I have made on some recent fund investments and put the money into them. I'm aiming to stick to the age approx. equal to proportion of bonds idea, with the money spread over a decent number of retail bonds and to vary the other part of my investments according to my feeling on the markets.
I have 26.5 years of final salary pension, some AVcs, s COMP fund, a SIPP, a few ISAS and have recently started contributing to my company pension, so can afford to take some risks.

II share dealers have become a pain to use so today I'm going to sell off all my holdings and think I will keep it simple and buy via nat west as I bank with them.
Will probably buy a small holding in herencia first as I still like the potential.
