It's odds-on however, that you won't get a single opinion posted on your thread, at least not one that is remotely intelligent.

On the other hand, may be benny the clown will surprise me, take his finger out of his arse, stick it up in the air to check which way the wind is blowing, and comment. I very much doubt it though, he didn't have a clue that WTI is not the price of oil, I doubt he has a clue what is really happening with NG.....so finger still firmly in arse.

Judge Roughneck, it's very simple, no one will post an opinion here about what you asked because no one has a clue. Posters on here can masquerade  as "traders" when all it takes is taking a guess at a certain price movement (I emphasize GUESS) but reveal themselves the clueless mugs they really are when there is any kind of debate that requires knowledge of economics or any kind of analysis. This is the reality of this forum no matter how much the lemmings try to deny it through posting incessant drivel and blowing kisses to each other.

Let me preface this by saying I don't trade NG, there are so many other ways to play this casino called a market now that I just don't bother. Some years ago however, we handled the Duke Energy acquisition of Westcoast Energy which forced me to learn the NG business, and fast. I try to stay in touch with the industry, it's one where opportunities for mergers and acquisitions never seem to end, so with that in mind I think I can offer an opinion that carries a little more weight than a casual observer. Here it goes:


The "benny the clown version":

The "lemmings who only trade without worrying about analysis" version:
"Natural Gas prices will likely drop below $2 this summer, perhaps as low as an unprecedented $1.50 !!!!!"


The "dumbed down" version:
"It's all about supply and demand. The shale gas revolution has resulted in North America being very long in supply. Throw in an economy that is slowing down and an abnormally warm winter, the severe declines in demand are resulting in the current low price. Storage levels which get depleted in the winter and get refilled in the summer are now at a historic high for this time of the year. Fast forward a few months and there will be so much natural gas in the market with virtually nowhere to go as the storage pools will fill up fast. The result will be that price will undoubtedly be driven to a historic low."

Because other than that, I haven't seen much of anything else from you here.

By the way, I need to look into this again to confirm but as I remember quoting Warren Buffet doesn't quite earn you a degree in economics at LSE. I'll have to look into it to be sure and let you know, may be the lowered their standards, you never know.

Spot gas at the AECO storage hub in southeastern Alberta slipped 1 Canadian cent to average C$1.70 a gigajoule. Deals were done between C$1.66 and C$1.74 a GJ.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration said inventories in the United States rose by 42 billion cubic feet last week, compared with a Reuters survey estimate for 34 bcf.

Canadian storage volumes rose 0.5 percent to 492.5 bcf. Canadian Enerdata said facilities across the country were 69.5 percent full on average, compared with just 26.9 percent 12 months earlier.

Gas fell to $1.999 per 1,000 cubic feet Wednesday afternoon. The last time it fell below $2 was Jan. 28, 2002, when it hit $1.91.

Melly ("I try to stay in touch")only just spotted this trend and even then needed JR's help. His opinion (based on every pop finance show on telly who have talking about for weeks) is that it might keep going down.
One of the many ways of playing the market was to be MASSIVELY short on AAPL for the entire time of the NG move, so one reason he doesn't trade NG is because he has no money left.

Shorting @ 2.60 and getting out at the 2.00 level as mentioned would have been a reasonable 23% profit. There would have been little point in waiting for midsummer day to cash the chips.
