When watching a recent episode of The Real Deal on television in the last few weeks I saw one dealer buy scrap gold for £900 at the end of the show it was pointed out the dealer made £300 profit by scrapping this gold.

My question is, who do dealers sell scrap gold to?  Couldn't the person who sold it for £900 in the show simply have sold it to the place the dealer disposed of it and got £1200 for his gold instead.

the dealer is a MIDDLE-MAN. he buys cheaply off people and sells it on. he can do this because he knows the market well.
