Any suggestions for ASX/NZX investments?

I've got cash just sitting in the bank at around 4 percent, must be a better way.
Was about to buy NZO when it dipped under 1.20 but was too slow. Also was looking at NZX but don't know enough about them.
Not sure about the telcos, growth in data and the new fibre rollouts an upside but there are downsides.
Any advice welcome.
