The Times is about to start charging for its online paper. Has anyone used their new site yet and is it worth it (about £100 per annum - I think)?

I think the other "broadsheet" papers will follow. I can't believe only the Times will be charging in 6 to 12 months time.

Only a numpty would pay for online news when there is so much free (and arguably less biased and better informed) journalism out there.

To dismiss everyone who reads a "broadsheet" newspaper online as a "numpty" is pretty brainless. Thanks very much for your input

Yes it would be, but I didn't say that did I?  Numpty!

lIVE4 - yes you are because soon all the broadsheets will charge (which if you had actually read my comments you would know). Still - as you probably read the Sun or Star (or Beano) this won't affect you.

Hey don't knock the Beano.

You do know the Times and the Sun are basically the same paper?

definitely not worth it. It isn't even an improvement over the old site, infact it's probably worse. I give it a year before they are back to offering it for free.

Not reading newspapers inc online is the way forward.  After 30 years I no longer buy newspapers or rarely bother to look online.....the thing that hits you when you do read one is just how much of the content is opinion rather than just facts.
