Any help appreciated.

It's my godchilds 1st birthday and i'd like to start a savings for him.  One lump sum payment invested that he can get when he's 18.

I know the rules are changing/CTF being stopped.

What's the best path in your opinions?

Thank you very much!

Personal CTF payments should be OK for the time being.

IT sounds as if the fund will continue, just the government payments will stop.

Best thing you can buy him is a gold bar. You can buy from Bairds online and they will send it to you by registered post.

By the time he is 18 there is a strong possibility that we will have had a period of hyperinflation, so I dont think any sterling bond would be worth much, even if it is nominally index-linked.
