Why does it take 10 minutes to post the beginning reference price of the WallSt30 sometimes? It is completely too late. It should be automated. I know Bloomberg has an api and it would be quite easy to write a program to automatically grab the reference price. Why is this still done manually? I will write the program for Betfair for free if they would like.

For WallSt 24th March (20m) - 14.20 - 14.40, Betfair didn't set a reference price for the contract. Betfair instead set the reference price for the 14.40-15.00 contract as the reference price for the 14.20-14.40 contract.

Maybe Betfair should rethink using the Bloomberg price for setting the price, since Betfair can't reliably post this price. It would cost users at least 1000 pounds a month to have use of a Bloomberg terminal. So to automate a trading strategy with Betfair, the Betfair traders are faced with paying 1000 pounds a month just to get started. Maybe Betfair can use a cheaper mark of the price from such cheaper data providers as DTN or Metatrader.
