Just leave it in if you want to , you can add another £3,600 next month if you want to.
Not sure who you are with but watch the slimy feckers , found out mine had dropped to 0.8% with of course no warning , a phone call later and it is now 3% , not good but near enough the best around. That was Abbey. |

add another 3.6k ?
I thought the maximum allowed was 3.6k at any one time. (it's with LTSB) |

You are allowed to add £3,600 every year.Moneysupermarket suggest you are on 1% , check and if so change to somewhere else.Do you know what rate you started on ?

NatWest looks about the best of those allowing you to transfer , 3.25%.Someone else might know of better though.

I can't find any documentation with the interest rate on it, but I'm pretty sure it was a fixed rate (around the 3% mark) last April. According to the T and C, they need to inform me of any interest rate changes, and they haven't, so I'm not expecting any major cuts.
Re moving it to another bank, does that mean I can save a total of 7.2k in a cash ISA with another bank? And if I just leave it where it is, and add another 3.6k, will I make interest on 7.2k ? As you can tell I haven't a clue about this stuff. |
|
By:
You need to phone them and ask what the rate is ,if it is still3% all well and good but don`t be shocked if it`s down to 1%. I could not find the rate I was on .Yes you will get interest on 7,200 , April 6th is when you can add to your ISA .

Frames i'm with Abbey too.
I had 34,108 in mine and then added 3,600 on 15/04/08 leaving me on 37,708. I just received my interest of 1,556, so now on 39,264. Doesn't give breakdown on what % it was paid at, have i been shafted? |
|
By:
You might have been shafted for the last few weeks as I have been, you need to phone them as you are probably on Direct Issue 1 (0.8%) or Issue 2.You need to swap to Issue 3 (3%) , you might get a better rate with so much in.
I wonder how many millions they have paying 1% and less. |
|
By:
Thanks you very much frames on pointing this out.
I was indeed on 0.8% and have been for a while, now changed to issue 3. Thanks again. |

Good , it`s wrong how they do it , no sign of the interest rate unless you dig around or call them and not a chance of them telling you in advance.Conmen is too kind a word for them.

Yeah, it's fairly easy to transfer. Just make sure you dont withdraw the money, if you want to switch open up a new isa with whoever and there should be an option to transfer your existing funds across
