Just one question, what were the financial companies doing not checking up on these applications. I can understand some fraud getting through but loaning millions does suggest a need for thorough checking of applications ?

This is really not a new thing guys!! You are getting carried away with the headlines. It amazes me that anyone is surprised, especially on a gambling site. Any fraud is a GAMBLE, nothing more nothing less

People are greedy... They will do anything to make a buck. Some are greedier than ever. One thing is for sure, Many of the Solicitors , Accountants, Property developers you mention had been getting away with it for years. As house prices increased the chances of them getting found out decreased.. Many will never , ever be found out.
