This afternoon's card at Plumpton is a good one and the most interesting bet looks to be Cinderella Rose (13:40). Kim Bailey's runner is still only lightly raced, but she possesses a good strike-rate of three wins from seven starts and was fully entitled to have needed her recent return from a year off. Much better can be expected this afternoon and, although she does have to prove herself under softer conditions than previously, the form of her yard is certainly another positive for her.
Aquilifer (14:00) has won four of his six starts at Lingfield and the Elaine Burke-trained runner can further enhance his record with success there this afternoon. A 3 lb rise for last month's victory means there's more required from today's mark, but, although the winning distance was only narrow, he did it in good style, always travelling well and just doing enough to get on top at the line, definitely leaving the impression he's got an even bigger performance in him, and the fact that a couple of today's main opposition were behind him that day further adds to the confidence.
Chester Lad (14:20) has always had the ability, but consistency has been a major issue for him throughout his career. However, he's now in the care of Donald McCain and, after running a good second on debut for that yard, it's worth taking the chance that he's now going to be able to hold his form rather better than he has in the past, and if that is the case then he's more than capable of defying this mark given he went close from 4 lb higher towards the end of last season.
Back Cinderella Rose @ 4.8 Plumpton 13:40
Back Aquilifer @ 7.4 Lingfield 14:00
Back Chester Lad @ 3.65 Musselburgh 14:20
