Redcar Placepot selections

07 Jun 11 12:17
14.00 - All of these have experience in this opening maiden, but none of them have shown enough in form terms to make them banker material and we'll need a couple to make it through. Ingleby Angel is the first selection, open to improvement after his second at Southwell last month, but fibresand promise isn't always confirmed on turf, so we also include Lexi's Prince, who won't need to find much for the application of a visor in order to figure.

14.30 - Atyaab should be capable of winning this maiden on the best of her form for Dermot Weld, but her attitude became an issue during the second half of 2010 and she has something to prove starting out for Alan Swinbank. Therefore, it makes sense to also include Let's Face Facts, who finished off well on her reappearance, and a similar step forward can see her involved.

15.00 - We'll need a couple to make sure in this fifteen-runner contest, but in truth it looks to revolve around Tim Easterby's Ryedale Dancer, who went close on her handicap debut despite greenness and is well up to winning this type of contest. The one who sets the standard on form is Fleurie Lover, so she's also included, despite looking a hard ride last time.

15.35 - The progressive Boom And Bust is a worthy favourite in this contest and looks to have been found a good opportunity to complete the hat-trick. Our second choice, Reel Buddy Star, is not so progressive but is a solid choice at a bigger price. Both of them do, however, race up with the pace and just in case they go a bit too quick we'll throw in Kiwi Bay, who looks to be returning to form.

16.10 - Pint Size understandably heads the market in this maiden claimer, but he looked all about speed the time before and this sixth furlong may stretch him, so it's worth also including Mad For Fun, who finished strongly last time.

16.45 - Kieren Fallon makes the trip up north to steer home Set Me Free (banker) in this most uncompetitive finale.

15.00 - 8, 12
