Today I lost my first bet
but that's life!
Over the long-term I am expecting my Strike Rate to settle around the 97.5% mark and if it does then the worst-case scenario in terms of losing runs that I will face will be 2 back-to-back. That I can live with ... and more importantly ... so can my Bank!
Another point to note is that even though I lost a bet today I still managed a R.O.I. of 17.25% for the day, a somewhat better rate of return than keeping it in an ISA or High Street Bank Savings Account!
I should also point out that the first few days of 2019 have been rather exceptional. In reality I would expect to see a R.O.I. of no more than 5% a day (not that I am complaining!). I'll leave it to you to 'do the maths' on what that daily R.O.I. can produce.

May I start by wishing one and all a very happy and prosperous New Year!
It's been a few years since I was last on here. Back then I managed to make most of the basic mistakes that newbies tend to. However, I noted what did and did not work (and why!). I adjusted and re-tested and slowly but surely moved towards a successful investment strategy.
As part of the discipline I decided that from 2019 I would try and publish a daily record of progress. We shall see how that works.... Last time I was 'hounded' by 'nay-sayers' (probably with good cause on reflection). This time I will not be entering into any discussions until or unless I reach a profit of £100,000 (One Hundred Thousand GBP). That is starting at ZERO profit and making £100,000 clear of Commissions sometime in 2019. Should that target be reached, I think I will then have the right to simply ignore those who delight in pointing out where they think I am going wrong. In reality I am hoping that should I reach that target then people will start to pay attention rather than find fault.
The data I will publish on a daily basis will be (by most people's standards) rather limited to say the least! Initially it will be very basic - even to the point where some will claim it is 'useless', or 'meaningless', or even 'just made up!' The only point I will agree with is that in the early days the data won't be that helpful to you. It may well be 'interesting' - if it's true! - but it certainly won't be that helpful. But then in the early days I don't intend it to be. I will simply be laying down a level of performance (or non performance!) to establish a trend and an expectation of what is possible.
I should also stress that what I am doing (bear in mind the £100,000 GBP target) does not require a very large Opening Bank. As you will see in due course (and as I will prove) anyone starting with say £50 to £100 GBP could do the very same as I hope to to.
I will also, as I see fit, add a 'comment' or two on the day's investing (assuming that I have anything worth saying).
As time goes on more and more data will be added and eventually I may even publish 'key data' before the event. But that last point is not a given. Just to be absolutely clear ... in the early days, weeks and possibly months, data will be published after the event. And yes I am perfectly aware that for many that will be seen as being totally useless (to you!). However, if I achieve what I think I can achieve then the wait will definitely have been worth it.
Now, after that little preamble, let me lay down my Data for Day 1:

There were 17 Bets on my initial Shortlist today. I would normally expect 4 or 5 of those to be removed for various reasons (Non Runners, Unfavourable Odds etc.). Today, as it was New Year's Day, I had promised my lovely wife that I would spend time with her. Hence my only taking up 5 Bets.
As I said .... the data at this stage does not tell you much (other than I had a very profitable day!).
