Well, all-in-all a pretty crap start to the merry month of May! However, I intend to keep my head down and with discipline and patience see this poor period through.

As a side note: It is at times like this that many people are tempted to change their approach. I will not be doing that simply because of a couple of 'bad' days and a couple of 'no bet' days. At this moment in time I have a Strike-Rate in excess of 96% and have made a tax-free profit, in 126 days, of nearly £15,000! That's £119 per day or £833 per week.

At this moment in time I confidently expect to reach the £20K mark (Y-T-D) by the end of the month. (You can quote me on that!)

Well, it had to happen sooner or later.... but that's life. If I never made a loss I would already be a billionaire! It should be possible to pull it back in a few days.

On a more serious note I naturally revisit (in great detail) any loss to see if I made a mistake or missed something I should have picked up on. I am pleased to report that in this instance it was just one of those things. It happens. Move on and upwards.

Just for the record the commentator was reduced to blaspheming under his breath (but the mike caught it) .

Today, nearly everything came together! A reasonable number of bets and some favourable odds. The discipline and patience paid off. £476 for the day. This is what I am looking for on a regular basis.

Month End Report: April 2019

The first thing to say is that May will be a very informative month. With the exception of the 'No. of Bets' (111) and the 'Average Bets per Day' (3.70) all the metrics rose - and rose by a respectable amount. Rises were to be expected as the Daily Opening Bank grew. So, naturally my focus is on the two that didn't rise. What was, or could have been, the reason? The primary reason was that I 'tightened up' my selection criteria last month. I did this with the objective of increasing my Strike-Rate. This I achieved - you can't get better than 100%! And I would be the first to admit my surprise at just how successful it was.

By 'tightening up' my selection criteria I, by definition, reduced the number of selections that I could bet on. So far perfectly logical. However, the question remains "Was that the only cause of the reduced number of Bets?" It is quite possible (but not provable) that other factors could have played a part in the reduction. What factors, if any, we are unlikely to ever know.

Now, should next month's 'Average Bets Per Day' stay around the 3.70 mark, then I think I can reasonably deduce that it was the 'tightening-up' alone that caused the reduction. And that is why May will be a very informative month.

My Average Daily R.O.I. currently stands at 4.28%. If I can raise it to my 'target' of 5.00% then .... Happy Days!
