Back with a Bang! Everything came together today - delightful. A reasonable number of bets and with very favourable odds. Today's results have helped pull back some of the lost opportunities of the last few days. The weather was also much more tolerable. Every little helps.

It still unlikely that I'll match last month's profit, but at least I have a chance of getting closer to it than looked possible earlier in the month.

As mentioned yesterday I once again did not place any bets today but rather made my selections and awaited to see if they would have won. Sod's Law dictated that they would all have won! All of them! 7 out of 7! So much for my 'exceptionally hot weather theory'. The question is, what about tomorrow - forecast to be the hottest day on record? I shall decide in the morning. Tuesday's decision proved to be the correct one but today was not such a good decision. What to do.......?

NO BETS PLACED TODAY...read on...
Today I decided not to bet because of the exceptionally hot weather forecast. I thought such high temperatures might have an impact on the runners. However, I did list the bets I would have made so that I could check if my assumption was a valid one. When I came to check the 'results' that I would have had if I had bet guess what I found? Of the 6 bets I would have made ... 3 of them lost! That would have hurt!!

Bearing in mind that tomorrow (Wednesday) the forecast is for even higher temperatures I will not be placing any bets. I shall still put up a report on this Blog and I'll see what Thursday looks like before I make a decision on that days activities.

Assuming the worst (3 days without any bets) July is going to be a poor month. Poor, that is, in comparison to the previous month - but still not bad in terms of Tax Free income.

Another good day! Nearly £1,400 in two days is the type of performance I am looking for. However, I am only too well aware that what goes 'up' comes 'down' somewhere, sometime, someplace! I will not get carried away with a couple of good days ... I'll just be thankful and keep my head down and (try) to keep my mouth shut!!

On a very serious note the last two days have little, if anything to do with my 'skill' but rather the arrival of some very good odds on runners that happened to meet my criteria. It doesn't happen that often (as those who are following this will know). One of the keys to success with my approach is the gentle increase which results in even 'poor' days returning a healthy profit over time. Once again this is NOT a 'get-rich-quick' approach but rather a "get-very-rich-slowly" approach.
