Well, I wasn't expecting that! It just goes to show that one can never tell when the markets 'align' themselves to one's advantage. It also goes to show just how important it is to keep plugging away, even when the returns are poor. Once again I would stress that this is a long-term approach (no quick bucks) but rather a steadily increasing return - which will only get better over time. Can't ask for much more than that. Plus I have passed last month's total with a few days to spare (must now try to ensure I don't lose it again!)

A pathetic day to say the least. Very poor odds, but at least I can allocate it towards covering the commission charges.
I just need another £120 to ensure that I beat last months showing. On the bright side  -  it will change for the better as it is only a matter of time. It may get to 'squeaky-bum' time but I still think I'll reach £100,00 this year.

Comment:

Sooner or later one has to expect a lost bet. Put in context it is nothing to worry about - even though it is always annoying. 1 lost bet in 80 is nothing to worry about - and it still leaves me with a Strike-Rate of 98.75%. Over the long-term I can easily live with that. The only 'downside' is that it happened in a very quite month so its impact is greater. Had I been on target for say £10K this month, a £250 loss would be a hiccup. Anyway, onwards and upwards.

Just a few more selections plus slightly better odds makes all the difference! It makes up for all the boring days where 'nothing' appears to be happening. The reality is that each boring or uneventful day is actually a step towards days like today. When seen like that they suddenly become much more acceptable. As always "Patience and Perseverance" pays off over the long-term.

What a difference 'better odds' make! Only 4 bets - but a decent profit to be had from those 4. I don't for one moment think that the odds are yet turning in my favour (this was more chance than anything else), but as the saying goes .... "You've got to be in it to win it." This is a classic example of patience and discipline paying off. I may just scrape past the £5K mark this month.

NOTE: For the eagle-eyed amongst you, you will have noticed a mistake in my figures (now corrected). I understated my Month-to-Date figure (which 'adjusted a few other performance figures). Happily the adjustments were all in an upward direction. My apologies and I will be more careful in the future.
