Sadly once again no selections met my criteria. So I've ended the month on a bit of a low - but at least I have not been 'tempted' to try and find a bet or two. I have stuck to my criteria which is (in my opinion) a sign of good discipline.

I am hoping that October sees an uptick in selections. The last two months have been disappointing - my lowest and third lowest number of bets for a month. I was hoping to break through the £10K barrier last month but the bets just were not there to be had - and the same happened this month too. Hopefully both October and November will offer the opportunity to pass the £10K mark for each month - and then we will be (to coin a phrase) "off to the races!"

Whilst my chances are (obviously) reducing, I am still quietly confident of reaching my self-imposed target of £100K by the end of this year (31st December 2019). Admittedly I will need two good very months - but there is nothing like a challenge. And 'Yes', I am fully aware of the fact that what I am asking of myself is to achieve more in the next two months than I have in the last eight months! We shall see if Albert Einstein's famous dictum is true (watch this space).

As I look back over the year I can see some areas where my performance has improved considerably. That's another way of saying "that if I knew then what I know now" I would be much better off. But hey, we live and learn. And most importantly - I am learning from my 'mistakes'.

One particular area of performance that gives me some reason for confidence is my Strike-Rate. After a number of subtle adjustments to my criteria (along with actually following my own rules!!) the Strike-Rate, this month, was 99.09%. Over 110 bets I lost money on just 1. For me this is encouraging. Now I just need a few more bets that meet my criteria - and that will happen. The only issue is when?

Today was a good example of how very slight changes (the number of races and the odds on offer) can make a huge impact on the bottom line. My third best every day (I think). I am also pleased to have broken the £5K mark for the month with a few days to spare.
If I can manage to make another £400 in the next 3 days I will have had my third best month. Here's hoping

Another reasonably okay day. It would be good if I could reach the £5K mark by the end of the month - but I am not holding my breath (based on the last few weeks!). Hopefully the 'turnaround' will happen by the middle of October.

My two goals are a profit of £100K AND to be cruising at around the £2,500 mark per day by the end of the year. It is the second of these goals which is the really important one. It is not a question of 'IF' but rather 'WHEN'.
