Serena did get away with the panic room excuse, but different rules for the biggest stars and others. Nothing was ever made of Serena's refusal to begin with. Once there is a punishment dished out, I don't see them clearing a player. I could see it being reduced to 15 months or something like that.

So all 7 British wildcards in qualies for the women, lost, with only Watson making the final round and 1 other player making to the 2nd round. And only 2 of the 8 wildcards in the men's qualified with half not making it past the first hurdle.

2 qualifiers from 15, that's a lot of plucky Brits not making it, still plenty more plucky wildcards in round 1 draw tomorrow to cheer on for 1 round next week followed by the headline 'Draper the only Brit left by round 3.' Given Emma could be out.
