so begu ***** the bed against venus. no surprise there. set and a break lead turns into one set all. broken to lose the set as well. all the signs of high muggery. someone needs to tell her that against venus the longer the match goes on the better your chances should be not the reverse

Serena did get away with the panic room excuse, but different rules for the biggest stars and others. Nothing was ever made of Serena's refusal to begin with. Once there is a punishment dished out, I don't see them clearing a player. I could see it being reduced to 15 months or something like that.

So all 7 British wildcards in qualies for the women, lost, with only Watson making the final round and 1 other player making to the 2nd round. And only 2 of the 8 wildcards in the men's qualified with half not making it past the first hurdle.
2 qualifiers from 15, that's a lot of plucky Brits not making it, still plenty more plucky wildcards in round 1 draw tomorrow to cheer on for 1 round next week followed by the headline 'Draper the only Brit left by round 3.' Given Emma could be out. |

Yet again Raducanu gets a big fish in round 3 in Sabalenka, 4 times last year she had to play the best 3 players in the world in the first 3 rounds, and here we are again, she doesn't seem to want to be seeded high enough. Maybe she doesn't understand that 30 is no good. Williams to get smoked by Joint in Round 1, though would be great to see her make the 3rd round as that clash with Iga never happened when she was on tour before. Sorana looks like she has a comfortable route to the final. |

what an absolute chump draper. cruising along on serve then when he first has to serve to stay in the first set against humbert he nearly makes a pigs ear of it and then when he has to do it again he gets broken. absolute mental midget.
