JP was there for the taking, but perhaps not easy when you are an ITF type player.

Paolini's slam career really reminds me of Bouchard's, one great season and that's it, albeit at opposite ends of their 20's, sharp spike followed by nothingness in all the slams that followed.
By:
more Errani's imo
By:
Bouchard is more like Vaidisova
By:
I actually find Paolini's career hard to fathom.
Her record at Wimbledon read...R1 - R1 - R1 - FINAL. Her record at the French read..R1 - R2 - R2 - R1 - FINAL Also Knocked out Seven Round 1's in the other 2 slams, and one Round 2, leading up to that first final. Sounds a bit familiar to her fellow Italian Errani, sharp rise and fairly sudden fall And we all know happened to her. |

Fonseca on the comeback trail

By:
Andreeva ffs, my outright winnner down a set to an ITV vulture
By:
ITF
By:
that's andreeva done for another year then. doesnt have the minerals for a comeback
By:
what a load of nonsense from medvedev. i dont want to make excuses, followed by a slew of them.
By:
She does have the minerals, came from a set down twice against Sabalenka, final Indian wells last year and quarters here at the French a couple of years ago, but she can become emotionally unstable when things are going against her, needs a Steffi Graf Robot like, emotionless complex long term though.
By:
and feeble ones as well. none of what he said should have had anything to do with losing to walton. losing to a top player, ok maybe. but not walton. load of old rubbish. should be beating him with one eye closed hes that bad on clay
By:
thats what i meant mes. recently going back to boisson last year she doesnt have the minerals. of course shes shown some before that. its like a broken clock
By:
This is PEAK Walton though
![]() |
By:
never mind that mes. is andreeva coming back or not. im saying not.
By:
I think she will but it's been a tournament of big upsets, a few sub 1.1 shots busted already, Med, Ryba, Pegula, Popyrin
By:
Sometimes players just get caught unawares when they play someone a) for the first time, so have no idea what sort of player they are and takes them a while to work them out, and b) takes them lightly, I double Mirra had ever even heard of this player before, peak ranking just over 100
By:
Is Prizmic really going to lose 2-3 from a 2-0 lead
By:
Think Mirra will get this done, had she played a Bassole Ribery she would have been in serious trouble here.
By:
that cant be right about andreeva mes. if it is and she knows nothing about her opponent then she deserves to lose. thats amateur in the extreme
By:
and as for not taking the opponent seriously because of low ranking, again thats amateur and deserving of a loss
By:
umpire for the Mirra match sounds like he is about to have an orgasm when he speaks.
By:
It happens in tennis a lot, because there's so many players who you'll only ever play once, and sometimes little footage of them.
Then there are players like Mannarino who's spent years deliberately not wanting to know who he's opponent is until there's less than one hour to go, as he didn't want to over think he's matches and to reduce anxiety, couple of years ago he had no idea he was facing Novak at the Aussie open just before played, a year before that a fan met him at Indian Wells and wish him 'Good luck later against Sinner' which pissed him off. |

By:
forum eating posts like crazy
By:
never thought of that angle mes
By:
actually it's censoring
By:
I said umpire for the Mirra match is about to have an o r g a s m when he speaks.
By:
lucky I copy my long posts before I post them, something learned years ago, as sometimes they are swallowed, up this time because the mods censored the word pi$$ed, so had to replace them with dollar signs, grown adults not allow to swear, what an outdated forum.
By:
its annoying caramba. thought the software was programmed to just edit out swearing but now they just dont go through. got to self censor these days.
By:
so random though, some words they replace with four stars, for some they eat the whole post. And they ban edy because they are religous and prude and can't have someone question their imaginary person in the sky.
By:
exactly, some go through censored and some just disappear
By:
fonseca getting away with one here. brain fart from his opponent to blow the two set lead
By:
he's still banned? must have said something serious to be given a perma ban, not even I've had one them.
By:
easy for Mirra
By:
lets see what the decider is like. plenty of potential for it to wrong yet
By:
Prizmic's won just 5 of the last 20 games, going on 21
By:
wonder which is the more suitable opposition for Novak out of these young guns.
By:
probably not Prizmic who he recently lose to in Roma
