As expected by some (I was unsure what was gonna happen), Novak Djokovic withdrew.
That means the groups are as following.
Jimmy Connors Group
Carlos Alcaraz
Taylor Fritz
Alex de Minaur
Lorenzo Musetti
Björn Borg Group
Jannik Sinner
Alexander Zverev
Ben Shelton
Felix Auger-Aliassime
Play will start in about an hour from now.
We'll have a weird start with one match from each group being played today, to allow those playing on Sunday to have a day's rest. From Tuesday and on schedule will be as normal.

let the carlos mugfest begin. early break given back and now a chance of going a break down
even if he wins the first set will be see him going awol in the second as he has done so many times this season
carlos looking more and more like nadal everyday. nadal was hopeless indoors as well
slow hand clap for carlos after winning that set. atrocious level. de minaur should have won it but inevitably cacked his pants with the set on his racket
he we go with the second set silly buggers. breaks in the first game then gets broken straight back
breaks again. will he finish the match cleanly from here
that should be that. will need to be a lot better to beat sinner though

Unlucky for Felix. Hung with Jannik in that 1st, but got injured towards the end and has barely won points since then.
The rules are a bit vague on whether he is allowed to tap or not and still come back tomorrow.
I think you can if a doctor says you retired due to a real injury, but there is a risk you are not allowed back. That's WTA anyway, might be different with ATP.
Sinner has no heart. Drop shotting a hobbling opponent.

taylor still cant get it done when it really matters. almost like caelos lost the first set just to give himself a bit of a challenge
de minaur 7 in the world. we need some better players if he is number 7

what i love about that is the consistency. got to 30-15 serving to win the match and broken, did the same again serving to stay in it. absolute loser
Big mis click there from courtsider so don't feel bad, swiped the market to 1.01 thinking it was an ace but was called let, then double fault and lose the next 2 points to lose the match in the MTB !

Hard to be confident about Ben given recent form, but I still feel Sinner 1.09 is quite low in a dead rubber where he now doesn't even have the year end 1 ranking to fight for. Sinner will probably cruise to a straight sets win, but if he goes down a set he might not be all that keen on mounting a comeback given he has semis in less than 24 hrs to worry about.
might as well skip the semis if felix wins this. him and de minaur about the easiest opponents carlos and sinner could have wished for
Felix and Demon both in the semis of the ATP finals! Crazy times we live in, and weak era. (Out of the big 2 and with Novak only playing sporadically).
then immediately broken. looks like going the distance
went for an 11% arb when Carlos called the trainer. A gamble as always when there's an injury concern, but hopefully he won't tap in a match as big as this. Looks ok imo.
When they zoomed in on Flavia in the crowd I thought it was Laura 
Novak announced his retirement from the sport a couple of hours ago.
In happier news, Sara Sorribes Tormo is scheduled to come back from her burn-out break next week at the WTA125 Colina.
