Carlos Alcaraz

I would say I regret not going for it last round, but given I would have probs picked de Minaur it wouldn't have worked anyway. He's even more of a midcarder than Felix!

Advancing to day 15

n88uk - Davidovich Fokina, Majchrzak, Popyrin, Tiafoe, Bublik, Machac, Rublev, Lehecka, Musetti, Djokovic, Sinner, Alcaraz
TheCarambaExperience - Nakashima, Majchrzak, Popyrin, Tiafoe, Paul, Lehecka, Rublev, Fritz, de Minaur, Alcaraz, Auger-Aliassime, Sinner

...In this clash of the two winningest players of the Mouse Trap Trophy, neither has a pick left for the final. So the tiebreaker comes into play. Please submit as much of the following as you wish (in order) to me either on here as a DM or on X.

Winner of the men's final, number of sets played, number of games played (a tiebreak counts as a game), points won by the victorious player.

As I said, you don't need to submit all of them if you choose not to. Just be aware, that if e. g. both are still tied after games were taken into account and you have not submitted any number for the points while the other person has done so, you lose the tiebreaker.

Deadline is 7 pm BST on Sunday.

For number of sets: if I have 4, my opponent has 3, and the correct number is 5. Do I win (by being closest), or does it go to games due to none of us having the correct answer?

I believe the previous tiebreakers have been all women's finals, where correct set numbers only have two choices so this could not become an issue.

It's always closest.

The received choices will be published here after the deadline passed btw., before or during the early stages of the final.

Well played Caramba. I really thought you'd go Sinner!

n88uk: Alcaraz, 4 sets, 42 games, 138 points won
TheCarambaExperience: Alcaraz. 4. 36. 159.

Carlos Alcaraz won in four sets with the match having 34 games. Therefore TheCarambaExperience equals his big rival this year, wisewords, with each finishing on a strong three titles. Interestingly, they have shown to be very strong gender specialists, with wisewords' titles all coming with the women and TheCarambaExperience's all coming with the men.

Thanks. You did well too, harsh to land a 5.6 shot (3-1 Alcaraz) and still not win.

Before US Open last year I had not won any men's events (I did have a few shared though). And now I have won 4 out of the last 5. Things so easy in this Sinner/Alcaraz era Devil

Thanks edy for hosting.

I would also like to give a special thanks to Tommy Paul again who always bails me out of tricky situations Love

What happened to never trusting people whose first and surname are both really first names?

never trust a person with two first names. It's what I've always said

Is betraying that holy principle what enabled you to change from never winning the men's to almost always winning them?

It's still a very risky play. But when it works, the rewards are great.
As for turning things around, I have played the Tommy Paul card in each of my four victories, and there was also this which happened at Wimbledon 2024.
Freshly out:
