Through to day 12 - In the red corner we have SamuelMertensBertens who grabbed four of the eight available titles last season and who will be eager to continue their excellent form from last season. Despite being the second winningest contestant of the competition's history, a men's title at the Australian Open has however eluded him to this very day. Much unlike what has been the case for the fighter in the blue corner - Anubis8. Intially saved by the rain on day 1, he is looking to reclaim the title that was already his just a mere two years ago. With a title this year Anubis8 will be able to keep pace with wisewords for 4th winningest contestant and at the same time break the tie with Journeyman and everyone's most lovable host to claim sole possession of being the 5th winningest player in history.
Let's get ready to ruuumble! Anubis8 - Nishioka, Korda, Kecmanovic, Fils, Shelton, Lehecka, de Minaur, Paul, Sonego, Zverev, Sinner SamuelMertensBertens - Nishioka, Draper, Tien, Humbert, Michelsen, Paul, de Minaur, Djokovic, Sonego, Zverev, Shelton Freshly Out: Shelton def. GRANTCKING |

Sorry, I am a bit late.
Djokovic's thigh ruined Anubis8's plans to reclaim the throne, whereas Sinner ground down Ben Shelton and allowed SamuelMertensBertens to get his first ever victory in the AO men's. Congratulations! |

With this title SamuelMertensBertens tied n88uk for most titles in the comp's history.

woohoo! Thanks for running and bring on Roland Garros!

I think the key to victory is picking Jack Draper in the first days, survive a scare with him, and then it's pretty easy from there. I think someone else did this in recent times.
