The WTA released hundreds of gifs with all its biggest stars. Even one of Mirra saying hi to Andy. https://giphy.com/gifs/wta-wave-andreeva-miraandreeva-yiP7CmSEv9x2yhS6jd . |

They did a photoshoot with Mirra just to have her do GIF poses?

speaking of GIFs/memes, I'm surprised this hasn't been posted today.

Shelby seems awfully short today at 1.21 (even though it's against Shuai Zhang).

Do Leylah's acting skills not convince you it was organic rather than staged?

do you post these a lot in your twitter group chat?

No, I like variety and choose different ones most times.

why did Anisimova not get protected ranking? Because it was not an injury that kept her away?
|
|
By:
Anisimova has a special ranking of 61 available to her if she wishes to use it. It's how she entered the Australian Open. If your management agency is willing to give you a wild card at their tournament though, might as well take it instead of using up one of your limited SR entries.

|
By:
ah, so tennis abstract doesn't list SR/PR's then. I thought they did.
|
|
By:
They don't as far as I know.
If lists such as at the Australian Open entry list aren't available and you want to get an idea of where someone's SR is likely to be, you can also look at the first rankings released after a player's last tournament before their injury timeout. In e.g. Anisimova's case May 8 2023. She last played Madrid 2023, which started on April 24. With it being a two week event, no new WTA rankings were released on May 1, so May 8. The ATP still releases real entry lists I think, so for them simply look at those. |

Madrit isn't real clay remember.
Tbf neither is Stuttgart. |

Yeah, Rome is where it's really at.
Used to be Rabat, but then they put it into the slot right before RG and the top players started shunning it and we were prevented from having an additional indicator of who will do well at RG. |

I feel like JM Cerundolo was once upon meant to be the better brother, but he is approaching his mid 20s and seems perennially stuck in challenger purgatory.

Am I alone in anticipating that Wozniacki vs. Errani on clay in 2024 is bound to be a match for the ages?
|
|
By:
It's been a good two days for the Wang sisters at Madrid. Yesterday Xiyu came back after she had saved 1 match point in the second set against Bogdan (on her own serve at 6-7,4*-5 40-ad). Then today Xinyu Wang saved ten (!) match points at 2-5 and 3-5 respectively in the second set against Tomova before she came back to win in three sets.

Erika racing against time to be fit to play RG qualies. She was confirmed injured (unspecified) on Timofeeva's blog at the start of the month. Maybe a few less matches over the festive season wouldn't have been a bad idea after all.

I don't know if it's just a video effect or not, but on the stream it looks like the house on the left has a low of constantly blinking lights and it somewhat triggers me. |
