they have been so unbelievably sloppy lately both when it comes to putting up markets and having streams for them.
|
|
By:
end with the streams, it's down to pure chance if some events will have a stream or not. If it's not added when they load the market, they will not/ can not add it later. Doha, Santiago and Dubai have all been shambles. And I think some challenger events too.

With ITF they'd also forget singular matches, though I don't even know why. All sorts of websites get this stuff right and I very much assume it's all automated with them. So why Betfair can't get this done I do not know.

All these young players need to get more professional and stay away from the tijuana car washes when in Mexico.

Might not be related, but ever since they changed from having the round specified in the menu (1st round, 2nd round, quarter finals etc) and now just saying singles matches for ATP events and ITF (I don't know how that was before), I feel like there's been lots more of this muggery with things missing/not getting added correctly). WTA still has rounds specified and I haven't noticed this there.

Can't notice missing WTA streams on BF.

well that is true, so not as much to go on, but as far as matches not being added, being added later than they should I haven't noticed this with the WTA markets.

do you think I might be on to something though, you knowing more about programming than I do. Although I managed to fix a programming bug for Pinnacle once though that they had 3-4 days to solve and couldn't

Marta rolling on a red ball now. Amazing scenes.

I don't think it directly has to do with that. What I could imagine is that the lack of rounds indicates the usage of a different data provider that doesn't provide the round data. And that that data provider is sloppy.
Although I managed to fix a programming bug Oh please tell me more when you have the time. |

I blame the slow court.

By:
ah, related to the new score provider that happened/is happening and that caused all the issues early this year?
|
|
By:
If that coincided with lack of rounds in the interface, maybe.
|

By:
I always navigate through search and the main inplay coupon, so don't know when that round change came into effect.

Betfair found Gurugrum, but just like nando's they are not able to convert a starting time.

so this was Cincinnati (Southern & Western Open). Not sure if WTA or ATP or both.
This was ~15 years or so so details are a little sketchy. But they wouldn't offer odds for this event. They had the event listed, but no markets. And I asked why and they hum and haw like bookies do, but after I pressed the issue they said they were having some issues having the markets being displayed on their site. So then I suggested, because I have been working at a newspaper and sometimes certain characters can cause issues, so I said maybe that & character is causing issues, try to remove that character from the event name and see if that's causing issues. And the person I spoke assured me that was not it. And then two hours later, I see they have changed the event name to Southern And Western Open and all the markets were now displayed fine. But of course, not a thank you or any acknowledgment that they were wrong. But I'm glad it was resolved in the end. |

That's a very cool Pinny story. I suppose newspapers are typeset with some sort of typeset programming language where certain characters are used for commands/formatting and you have to do special escape commands to display them? I know TeX/LaTeX pretty well, which is a typesetting thing in academia, and there e.g. you cannot simply write %.
With website programming it will probably be similar. |

I don't know it works in the backend, but from my experience I knew this type of stuff could cause issues.
