The thing I remember most about Kvitova's win over Genie in the Wimbledon final a decade ago was how comfortable an experience it was for Petra. There wasn't a moment from the first ball to the last that she doubted she would win and pressure didn't come into the story at all. Today may have been a different scoreline but Aryna staying in that comfort zone and not doubting that she would ultimately prevail is a humbling experience for an opponent.
Anyway, dreadful final. But well done Aryna. I have nothing against the lass as long as nobody starts using phrases that end with the number 3.. |
