I am glad to interest you in a new edition of the long-running tennis subforum tradition.
Pick a player each day. If your player wins, you advance to the next day and get to pick again. At the end, glory, lots of forum cred, an entry into the competition's hall of fame awaits the ultimate winner. If your player loses, you are out and eternal shame shall fall upon you. Each player can only be chosen once, so maybe don't pick your favoured finalists on the first two days. All picks count if one ball has been played. If your chosen player withdraws before the match, please try to submit a new pick. I understand however that not everybody can monitor this all day long, so if no replacement pick is submitted, the favourite in the match that starts last will be entered automatically.
If matches are rescheduled due to rain, you are not allowed to pick from them for the new day (e.g if Lorenzi-Nakashima is originally scheduled for day 1, but it rains and doesn't start on day 1, starts on day 2 instead...you are not allowed to pick it for day 2. You are however of course allowed to use it as your day 1 pick). If it comes to such a scenario, I will try to point out which matches you are not allowed to pick on the day.
The picks continue every day until only one person is left, everyone has been eliminated, or the tournament has finished.
Picks don't have to be made before all play starts for the day, but it naturally should be made before the relevant match starts.
If multiple people reach the same day, they will share the same spot in the final standings.
Rule changes compared to the 2022 Wimbledon edition: None!
I hope that covers everything. If there are any additional questions, feel free to ask.
if all our picks go through tonight, I think JM is likely not to make the final two as he's picked Berrettini, Ruud and Kyrgios already so will be left with just Khachanov to pick.

even worse than that, you picked Nadal, what happens if Sinner loses, we all walk off into the sunset sharing Gold? bit like Gianmarco Tamberi and Mutaz Barshim in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics High Jump.

Well organised as always Edy and congrats to Mes and caramba.
Turns out my last remaining pick (Khachanov) would have won me the whole thing so thanks Rafa. Going forward I'd throw the suggestion in the box that everyone submit their picks to Edy and he posts the list of picks once all the picks are in. Just a suggestion.
How do we get through a whole week of these remaining players

^ Shared slam wins is literally all I have (US Open 2018, Aus Open 2022) so I'm not going to moan about it.
Closing the advantage play loophole is another matter. I'm not fingerpointing here btw, I late picked this week as well for whatever reason so Mea Culpa, but with 4 months till the next slam it's time to have a sensible discussion.

Late picking/making pick's based on what others have picked makes the game more fun and adds a strategic layer to the competition imo. There's also nothing unfair about it as everyone can do it. I will also bring my favorite argument, sending picks to edy means more work for edy. He'd have to check his dm and then post the picks in the thread which means significantly more work than just letting us post them here and just check if we posted before the match started or not. One could also argue that by sending edy picks, he would have the advantage of seeing picks before others. Not that I think he'd abuse this but there could be accusations and the integrity of the game could be compromized.

was in the process of writing something, but.....I agree with what SaMeBe outlines. Two more problems I see: It's not only more of a hassle for me, but I think it would reduce participation as it would be an extra hassle and hurdle for everyone.
Furthermore, I'd either have to be the one making a public pick or involve someone else to send my pick to.
Well done mes and SaMeBe!As forGoing forward I'd throw the suggestion in the box that everyone submit their picks to Edyand he posts the list of picks once all the picks are in.Just a suggestion.was in the process of writing something, but.....I agre
Fair enough. Based on what you're both saying the 'sending picks to Edy' idea is a non-starter.
There's also nothing unfair about it as everyone can do it. ^ This isn't true though.
Not everyone can do it. You're assuming that everyone playing is willing and able theoretically to monitor the picks made throughout the day. People have different lifestyles and commitments etc.
I don't think being able to make late choices based on what others have picked makes any difference in the first few rounds but by the time it gets to R3 through QF it's a clear advantage.
Was really just opening up to gauge thoughts of participants. I accept the picks to Edy idea is off the table.

Keep the suggestions and opinions going! I'm generally open to the secret pick thing, but I can't see a practical way of doing it. The comp should remain accessible and easy to take part in (and easy to administrate)

I thought if it would be an alternative to set a strict deadline e.g. for the scheduled start of play for each day. It would reduce the possibilities to maneuver, but at the other side it would be a nuisance for those that forget, or thought they could make it but then got busy with stuff and don't make it for the deadline, while not really bringing an advantage for those that can't be here all day to submit picks at point 11 am for RG.
