G'day!

I am glad to interest you in a new edition of the long-running tennis subforum tradition.

Pick a player each day. If your player wins, you advance to the next day and get to pick again. At the end, glory, lots of forum cred, an entry into the competition's hall of fame awaits the ultimate winner. If your player loses, you are out and eternal shame shall fall upon you. Each player can only be chosen once, so maybe don't pick your favoured finalists on the first two days. Retirement rule change: All picks count if one ball has been played. If your chosen player withdraws before the match, please try to submit a new pick. I understand however that not everybody can monitor this all day long, so if no replacement pick is submitted, the favourite in the match that starts last will be entered automatically.

If matches are rescheduled due to rain, you are not allowed to pick from them for the new day (e.g if Lorenzi-Nakashima is originally scheduled for day 1, but it rains and doesn't start on day 1, starts on day 2 instead...you are not allowed to pick it for day 2. You are however of course allowed to use it as your day 1 pick). If it comes to such a scenario, I will try to point out which matches you are not allowed to pick on the day.

The picks continue every day until only one person is left, everyone has been eliminated, or the tournament has finished.

Picks don't have to be made before all play starts for the day, but it naturally should be made before the relevant match starts.

If multiple people reach the same day, they will share the same spot in the final standings.

I hope that covers everything. If there are any additional questions, feel free to ask.

Note regarding day 2:

A few matches originally scheduled for day 1 were cancelled and will be played on day 2. As mentioned in the opening post, you may not choose from them as your day 2 pick. However, at the same time this means an opportunity for anyone who missed Monday and wants to enter. They can choose from those matches as a day 1 pick (if anyone goes this route, please also submit a day 2 pick). The following matches are not eligible to be picked from for day 2:

Goffin - Albot
Daniel - Baez
Peniston - Laaksonen
Johnson - Dimitrov

Correction:

Platini and their Opelka pick should be in "delayed" just like aaronh (who should also not be in both advanced and delayed....). Please still make a day 2 pick if you wish to continue.

It's hard to imagine anyone can be confused by Edy's constant rule changes

However, BLENCATHRA I think you've made an invalid pick(?)

yes looks invalid to me as this was a match originally scheduled for day 1. But still plenty of day 2 matches to pick from.

Don't worry, I was just trying to be proactively helpful for a change Grin
(after I caused a much bigger headache for Edy in the last comp which has lead to the one ball rule).

I change one rule per installment max! The thing with not being allowed to pick from carried over matches has been there since the start of times, spanning multiple hosts.
