Fernando is a priced tennis player with a great career and a personal friend of the tournament director (Feliciano Lopez). I think it's ok and deserving to reward players who did so much in tennis with some wild cards in the twilight of their careers.
If you don't accept that, then Mari Osaka and I very much hope Naomi never reads this. |

On the priced tennis player thing: E.g Guillermo Coria got a wild card into RG one year when he was totally gone at the game. He didn't have the game to be in the tournament, but I thought it was great to see him there one last time. Obviously, if he had gotten one every year as a player ranked 600, that's big time uncool, but one last time for a champion....perfectly fine.

Making fun of Mladenovic is cool. There are many reasons to do so, but I'm not sure these female tennis players appreciate body/teeth shaming, even if it happens to Mladenovic who nobody likes. So they will immediately think "what a jerk!" and not even read your tweets. ;]p on the other has a very cute, innocent (inflatable?) duck head. |
