wow, I can't believe who just showed up on RAW Day 1!
By:
surely not The Rock?
By:
yes! but only after WWE trolled the fans by having Jinder Mahal come out first (they had hinted an appearance from a former WWE champion).
By:
Rock, once out there asked the fans where they wanted him to sit at the restaurant. "Should I sit in the bar ... or should I sit at the head of the table!"

Swedish Betfair removed all betting options on 16 year old Luke Littler so now that he made the final they don't offer it (or winner's market).

Lots of AJ Lee action figures in the bookshelf of CM Punk and AJ's home. Do you think it's his or hers?

pretty sure those are AJ's autobiographies on the top right corner. I don't recognize anything else.
By:
probably AJ's I'd imagine

I've not listened so much lately, but if anything big happens in the world of wrestling Jim & Brian are my first port of call |

By:
did you enjoy CM Punk's near 2 hour sitdown interview on Ariel Helwani's MMA Hour show?
By:
yeah, his talks with Ariel are always very good. Ariel also did one with Becky that was great minus the last 10 mins where they did in character stuff to hype her WM match, and then there's a Cody interview that I haven't watched yet.
By:
Tony Khan got really mad about it. They did two rah rah speaches on Dynamite in response and tonight they're teasing to show backstage footage from Wembley which according to Dave is actually going to be that and not some bait and switch/trolling.
By:
Yeah they're going to show the CCTV footage from Brawl In 2023 at Wembley

and same, haven't got round to watching the Cody one yet, just the Punk one. Punk's been doing some pretty good promos on RAW lately too, very entertaining stuff

By:
it really feels like AEW is going to be out of business 2 years from now. this whole CM Punk saga has totally killed it

The Punk/Drew/Seth promo was fire.

AEW has been on a downward slide since 2022 with Cody leaving and the first Punk injury and Brawl Out.
Hard to speculate on their future. If they get a good tv deal they will probably be fine, but with declining viewership and an overall cold product I'm not sure they will. I do think they are reckless with their salary spendings and it doesn't feel like a stable business model. But Shahid Khan is super rich, to him these AEW numbers is not that big so as long as Tony wants to do this and Shadid is happy to finance it to keep Tony happy, I can see the company sticking around as long as they have any kind of tv deal with decent exposure. Hard to really comment on their business when it's a private company and numbers aren't published, but just looking at it from the outside it doesn't look all that good with half empty arenas and such big spendings. Meltzer and Alvarez speculated on how much the two companies spend on salary compared to revenue (I think that was the number used) and they said WWE is just under 10% and AEW somewhere between 30-50% which is huge if accurate. |

By:
Good summary on AEW. Do you think Tony would keep going even with small crowds and 25% full arenas? I think that's the danger because as you point out, it's a really cold product right now
By:
He should switch to smaller venues for now so at least the venues will be (close to) full and have great atmosphere.

at the moment they are a laughing stock

Tony must be in ruins over this. He won't be happy at all because he really, really cares about AEW being popular and successful |

I can't believe Eddie Hearn has cashed out your favourite boxer in the whole wide world Grant. Katie "The Power" Taylor has been cashed out, and her feather fisted flurries will have no effect as the B side!! You must be absolutely devastated at this heartbreaking news ![]() |
