Not surprised Sabalenka has gone. It was getting more difficult towards the end of last year and although she won the opening tournament she hasn't progressed and it has been a shocking year. She still has a big enough game to break opponents but the serve is a major problem. It just isn't consistent enough so you are never sure she will consolidate a break.
Loads of points to defend and easy to see her ranking entering free fall. I see Pliskova was taken to a tie break. What was the story there? Surely not feeling the pressure already? |
