they scheduled both QFs yesterday and didn't want to change their scheduling, so they've just decided to fit the R3 matches around them

Because of the rule on not putting matches delayed from last night. I think it's debatable here. Those players hung around until like 11pm last night for play to be called, can you start them at 11am?

Rest is TV purposes, originally QF's were meant to be 1-3-5-7pm I think, now they moved 1 earlier and TV gets a R3 as well.

It's not even the same half. I think the 2 set QF's are in diff halves.

It's part of what happens at events like this. It's not fair, but it's why grand slams put a lot of effort into getting roofs to stop this at end of their events.
