No more digging to be done atm until next band of information comes out, which hard to know when it will come.
I would say it's pretty unlikely she plays the US Open, but without full facts very hard to tell. Sharapova also very hard to tell. I can't remember Sharapova pretty much every playing the grand slam after withdrawing from all the warm ups like this, but she also could potentially play Q for warm up matches which normally not been an option to her. So history suggests no, but her statements and activities suggest yes. But then the latter also suggested she would play Cincy, and she didn't. |

By:
what was her injury that she has been troubled with?
By:
Better from Svitolina that game.
By:
I think it's right forearm right (or is it left?). I forget which, one of the Sharapova fans can probably tell you for sure.
By:
not a bad time from pova to come out of the shadows and win a slam
By:
I might have a dabble
By:
Very hard to see her doing that. She's played 1 match in about 4 months by the time the US Open starts.
By:
Also even if she plays, her body holding up seems pretty questionable. I assume if she plays she will go off about 25s, and it's deserved imo.
By:
Much, much better from Svitolina all of a sudden.
By:
yeah but with her being female I always assume the practise they get with males behind the scenes is tougher than the WTA she will be ready

She hasn't looked good enough in her matches to suggest she can just come back and win a grand slam with nothing.
By:
Svitolina exceptional now.
By:
What a poor performance against Svit from Wozzy. She's bloody useless in finals
By:
She will always be artificially under priced a bit too in this field. Big name in a field lacking big names with no Serena, and a perception of anyone can win will lead to money going on her if she plays.

By:
Sam Smith turnaround now. Saying can barely believe what we're seeing. Except if we watched Dubai which went virtually the same way as this match so far.
By:
You forgot another player Sam Smith loves in your analysis earlier Wisewords. Simona Halep.
By:
40-0...
By:
can svita collapse like she did against halep

HE SEE'S THINGS US MERE MORTALS CAN ONLY DREAM OFF SEEING

By:
Svitolina has stepped it up so much this set. This is the style of tennis I was expecting from the start, not sure why she started so passively.
By:
What a mug Wozzy Doing the unrealistic shot down a set and a double break. She isn't really smart
By:
Piotr on now lol.
By:
Lol at Sam Smith, now saying the slower court has hurt Wozniacki in this match.
They played in Dubai final, one of the quicker hard courts on tour, and Svitolina won 6-4, 6-2. |
By:
Wozzy really is only a pusher. That's all she ever was
By:
By:
Svit in the fist set was doing nothing. I thought she was tired. I made a bad decision laying svit. I lost on the player I knew would lose. It happens when you lay and then the other gowl decides to go into self destruct mode. Svit upped it and deserves to make 0-6 feel like a mug by giving her a 0-6 in the final set of the tourno

does fed def want to win this
By:
By:
I backed fed here but I'm wondering would he even be arsed to defend this title next years since He's got two slams already
By:
had a feeling federer would tank this and he did
![]() |
By:
Yes he's for sure tanking a final.
