Hello my friends,

another week of exciting tennis is upon us. With main tour events in both Europe and Northern America, it spans a lot of timezones. All the way from Kitzbühel (UTC+2), to Washington DC (UTC-4), Los Cabos (UTC-5) to Stanford in California (UTC-7). Stanford loves a good night session as well. Stack up on your favourite energy supplying beverages and food if you intend to cover all of them.

The Tower of the University of Georgia is back again this week in a typical busy US summer for him. He's coming in with a bit of form and back to back titles from Newport and Atlanta, but it remains to be seen how his big body will manage another week in typically energy sapping US summer conditions. This week also signals the end of clay court tennis on the main tour for this year. Most of the top100 will be off to the US of A for the next month and a bit. I you're a clay court lover like all good people are, enjoy Kitzbühel.

Let us all try to keep talk in these threads to tennis as much as possible. For anything else on your heart that you want to converse with about with your beloved tennis forumites, please use the topic called "S/OT 5"

So much for now, have a good and successful week!

the grunt no matter who is doing it Sharapova Azarenka or Sousa ... always does seem rather lame when the grunter is losing ... I love how the grunt fades with the realisation that the match and sometimes the point is slipping away  ... I'd love to see & compare grunting stats ... i.e grunts while winning vs grunts when losing ... grunts on big points .. grunts facing break point and grunts facing match point ... I think they're all fake and unnecessary ... you'd think that Azarenka would realise how childish she has been in the past defending her dumb howl now that she has gone & done a grown up responsible thing like having a baby .

I kind of understand a grunt sometimes, if you're making a particular hard effort or if you're hitting a ball really hard, I can see that happening but all the time, not really...
