Cut off Maria calling them virgins in that clip.
Dan King @DanKing_1974 27m27 minutes ago Being branded a "virgin" by Maria Sharapova is up there with my career highlights. For the record, my first visit to Stuttgart has been good |

Not gonna lie, Maria mocking the guy from The Sun in front of a packed room of colleagues was…something! |

Seriously, why does she not call Sumyk?
By:
sure glad I am here to witness Anet's finest hour

wow

here goes Jurgen again

yes, this is HIS finest hour

farewell challenger tour innit

By:
my ice comment looking quite muggy now, but I could not have foreseen Anett playing the match of her life.
By:
is she though
By:
Masha has to make at least SFs to meet a seeded player
she was *supposed* to play one in every round from R2 |
By:
I'm scared of Makarova despite the h2h, think the occasion will get to Anett if she plays Maria. Also, hard to follow up a big win.

Anett is going to improve her NCH again. Moving to #64

auf wiedersehen Jurgen

this is speedclay. Anet will mess her up
By:
but WTA in a muggy state for sure.
By:
Anett wouldn't have a chance against Masha even if they played on ice.
By:
But on a serious note, I don't think the road to SF will be as easy as it looks on paper for Masha. She's been preparing for this very day for over 3 months now (and in a way for over a year), so she might be emotionally drained after passing this first test, and even a mental giant like her might have a hard time to get in the right mental state for another match tomorrow. Makarova will likely provide a tougher test than Vinci did as well.

Muguruza fav for French Open is mug odds tbh.
By:
Maria came in a bit today despite not being very convincing.
By:
I thought she was quite good tbh after the initial crap start given the circumstances.
By:
Imo the bets right now anyway are Cibulkova 50/1, Mladenovic 100/1.
By:
There's so many clay mugs towards the top of the betting. Those 2 really stand out when you look at the quality of the players around them at same prices.
By:
I don't know you make fave though:
Simona who's been a mug at Slams since Wimbledon 2014? Maria who hadn't played a match since January 2016? Angie who's never had results on clay outside Stuttgart? It's very close between Garbine, Simona and Maria though and I don't think Garbine will be RG fave after Stuttgart. |
By:
It's surprising such odds are still being offered on Mladenovic btw.
By:
Well yer. I am surprised Pliskova who has been pretty consistent is just perceived to be a no hoper on clay by the odds relative to the favs.
By:
It's time to snap them up imo as they will go if she wins tomorrow.
By:
Markets are still underestimating Kiki. She's been playing well for ages now, can play on clay, and relishes playing in front of her home crowd and always gets lots of support.
By:
Market has bandwagoned people like Kasatkina who are vastly overestimated imo. She gets blown off court way too much for me to even think about backing her at odds like she is.
By:
lay Woz2 set up

By:
Kiki played well at French Open in the past in front of large raucous crowds.
By:
I know, she even made it to the semi last year but even though it's close I still wouldn't call it a home crowd
By:
close enough
