I only saw the last couple of games but it seemed to me G couldn't make the most routine shots

Lol BT Sport are now showing some WTA programme. I was going to turn it off, but apparently it features Jelena Ostapenko. Guess I will see what she has to say.

She Tweets a lot about practising hard. I don't necessarily think she is lazy. I think she's a head case.

She was far worse at the start. The start was so bad you have to see it to believe it. She should have been bageled, Svitolina had points for it.

They are testing the players on American slang. Hardly any have known what "getting a bigger bang for your buck" means.

Lol at what they had Ostapenko doing. The first person to do the "selfie-scavenger hunt". They have to be taking the piss with choice of player surely Laugh.

You have to have some long term exposure to native speakers to pick up expressions like that. Their circle of contacts is mostly non-native English speakers so it's not that surprising imo.

They also specifically target the players with weaker English seemingly (probably because it makes it more jokey then).

I bet if you asked someone like Petko she will know what they mean.

And as you say they asked people who also probably don't speak English that often. The likes of Azarenka, Sharapova, Wozniacki would surely know what they mean too.
