I thought the same but purely by the amount of money on Guilherme Clezar. Very odd match, going back and forth.

you don't need to go to some obscure challenger to see some shady stuff. aussie open, mixed doubles. check out hlavackova / kubot vs arruabarrena / marrero, set betting.

TIU seem to be refusing to speak on the case. They're totally unfit for any purpose.
Report DStyle January 25, 2016 7:51 AM GMT
all integrity units keep quiet, you can't announce what you're doing.

i do tend to think that this is a leaked injury rather than anything else.
Report Angela Rebecchi January 25, 2016 8:27 AM GMT
To back 2-0 sub 1.4 you must know the injured player is definitely not planning on trying.
Report bjvv January 25, 2016 10:09 AM GMT
I agree.  2-0 was backed at same price as Match Odds at one point. You must also be really sure the injured player won't retire. If it was a leaked injury, why not do match odds instead of 2-0 and be guaranteed a payout after one set played?

Also, the guy did nothing to suggest a injury while playing. He just played really really bad.

"Berlincioni, the betting expert from Italy, flagged four men’s doubles matches involving Marrero on the ATP Tour that had included suspicious betting movements, at tournaments in Beijing, Shanghai, Vienna and Metz, France."
Report YOMOMMA January 25, 2016 11:42 AM GMT
You could get away with one, but once you start to repeat it, it becomes obvious you are a fixer.
Report YOMOMMA January 25, 2016 11:44 AM GMT
Fixed loads of matches. Shocked

"In addition, before Marrero’s previous three mixed doubles matches at Grand Slam events, all last year, his odds significantly drifted. His chances of winning his match at Wimbledon last year, according to Berlincioni, dropped to 29 percent by the time the match began, from 55 percent initially."
Report YOMOMMA January 25, 2016 11:46 AM GMT
And Marrero is Spanish. Lots of Spanish fix and dope in tennis and football. No offence to any Spanish people reading this.
Report lurka January 25, 2016 1:40 PM GMT
what about his partners? no suggestion they're involved but why agree to play with him. it must be an open secret on tour
Report DStyle January 25, 2016 3:06 PM GMT

Interesting piece regarding the economics. Though it misses the obvious. Life bans for anyone matchfixing.
