Looking at the protential points to be collected we have only 8 leaders, as section I takes its toll already with 7 seeded women already out. badjoe, caramba and dukeofpuke have slightly better chances going for 8 on this question, 5 people chose 7, while slip5 ans StevoDevo lose at least 2 points there, dixie and Puggy4 are even further behind losing even more on this or section H.

After Round 1 of the championships we have 2 more sections completed.
The men seeds held up better than the women.
Section H. 5 Men are out, including Nadal (seeded 5). So saying 5 scores 4 points, saying 4 or 6 scores 2 points and 3 or 7, 1 point.
Section I. 12 Women are out, including Halep (seeded 2). So saying 12 scores 4 points, saying 11 or 13 scores 2 points and 10 or 14, 1 point.

The virtual leaderboard (top 12) is nearly the same with caramba possible of a score of 34 out of 38 points, only Alpha Centauri already lost 3 more points in picking Wozniacki in section L. The red lantern is occupied by themightymac (22 pts at best) preceded by breadnbutter (23) and LernhardBanger and paulypaul(24 each).

It's all about the seeds.

J-W Tsonga is still in, but the number 9 seed faces number 7 seed Kei Nishikori in round 4
13 of the top 16 men's seeds made it to the last 16
So if for section B you said 13 it's 4 points, 12 or 14 - 2 points, 11 or 15 - 1 point.
As for the "who'll do best from the 10-19th seeds" In the Men's, seeds 10 (playing seed 8), and 13 - 16 (play seeds 1-4), remain.
In the Women's event, the seeds have largely been wiped out but 4 of the "who'll do best" including the massive favourite (in the comp) Azarenka, are still there.
Only 8 of the top 16 made the last 16, so the points are:
4 points for predicting 8, 2 points for 7 or 9, 1 point for 6 or 10.
There are 2 Spaniards left in the event.
Isner v Ferrer is an important match.

In what can best be described as a peculiar set of events, the competition entrant slip5 seems to have c+p'd the entry of StevoDevo and as things have unfolded they find themselves in the lead - strangely this isn't the 1st time this has happened, but it still seems to me a weird and slightly potentially awkward (for me) thing to do. slip5 has however neglected to copy the tiebreak answer too so at best will come 2nd.
I'm wondering if this has blown bb66's mind. I hope you're OK bb66, your competition marshalling came to an abrupt halt a week early!

Victoria Azarenka went as far as Carla Suarez-Navarro. So 1.5 points for picking Miss Azarenka (which loads of you did)

I have to say (sorry if this upsets anyone) this was not the best competition I've ever run.
The Australian Open, I think, won't be in the repertoire in future.

Section F - There were 29 games played in the women's final which was worth 4 points - 28 or 30 scores 2 points and 27 or 31, 1 point.
This hasn't affected the very top of the leaderboard.

The reasons:
With one section to go, nothing can change.
I set up the tie break wrongly.
A direct copier came second..... For future competitions, ANYONE COPYING someone else's entry will not be counted for the competition.
Because of the short lead time, there weren't very many entries.

ALL THAT MOANING ASIDE.
Congratulations to StevoDevo with a clear 2 point advantage over the field, except for Slip5 who copied the entry and with the absence of a tie-break answer finishes in 2nd place.
Following a tie for 3rd the tiebreak came into effect Djokovic v Murray is worth 36 points which is what Frawsome, who finished tied with Hank Hill, predicted.
So well done Frawesome, very unlucky Hank, better luck in the future comps.
