Sue Barker will present live coverage across BBC One, BBC Two and the BBC Sport website with 153 hours of tennis scheduled.
If you miss any of the action, Clare Balding will present Wimbledon 2Day on BBC Two, rounding up all the best bits from the All England Club.
The new daily highlights programme will feature a live audience and celebrity guests who will talk about the latest news and hottest topics.
Wimbledon Classics will also return on BBC Two, with highlights of some of the best tennis battles in SW19 history.
___

Not a fan of grass but the BBC for some reason treat Wimbledon like a circus, celebrities swanning in and out of the studios everyday like there watching a novelty event, Horse Racing pundit and professional blagger Clare Balding replacing another blagger as presenter of a sport she knows jack about, and the usual commentators from various sports riding the two week gravy train having never heard of the players they're about to commentate on. Which other sport does that?...Here's an idea, why not just hire ex-pro's from within Tennis instead of Clare I'm a National Treasure now aren't I Balding, FFS.

She will be infinitely better than that twerp Inverdale.

Hiring ex-pros from within tennis to present would not work. They might make good commentators or studio guests, but they need a presenter to bring it out of them.

that's all we can ask for currently Cry

and she is obviously a much better person than Binverdale and might actually learn the difference between a game and a match

Can't disagree with anything you guys wrote.  The first thing I thought was; much better than bloody Inverdale and then I realised you were all thinking the same as me.     Laugh

I don't really like Balding but at least she makes an effort to get some level of knowledge before presenting/interviewing.

Inverdale couldn't care less.  Not an ounce of regard for the fact some people follow tennis more than once a year.  If you showed him pictures by rankings you wouldn't need to go far down before there was someone he couldn't name, he'd probably get stuck on Halep at 3 for wta

You can't judge someone in a role they haven't done yet. Inverdale's knowledge was lacking for such a role. You can't judge someone because even if they know nothing, if you're professional surely you research your topic anyway.

Today at Wimbledon is a pointless show for me personally anyway so I hardly watch it. It's use is to tell people what has happened today at Wimbledon in a concise form, that's totally pointless if you watched the day's play anyway. Especially as they're are normally matches still going on at the time it takes place. It's designed for people at work during the day.

Not as much as it'll be lacking for the commentary role he seems to have moved to for this year's tournament.

Mats Wilander is like a half-drunk, half-senile old man. He is a lunatic. In all seriousness, during this French Open Schett asked him why Nadal seemed to be returning to form and he genuinely put it down to him wearing shorter shorts, and went on for ages about how this helped him.

Wilander is brilliant compare to the atrocious coverage on the Beeb & zero insight from the likes of Andrew Castle, John Lloyd and Tiger 'Timmy' Henman.

Andrew Castle in particular has no right to be commentating with any authority on Slam tennis given his lamentable tennis career. No doubt he will be getting off on pointing out assorted celebs in the Centre Court crowd like this is the most important element of Wimbledon.

She reckons there will be a load of 40 years olds playing on tour in 10 years without a shadow of a doubt

Couldn't agree more Mesmirised. Bloody woman as smug as Inverdale, rude self loving knows  bugger all and is on everything. You should have seen her On Crufts, a total joke. Just watched her kiss arse on Ch4 Royal Ascot coverage for 5 days she thinks she's bigger than the queen! As for comments like as least she makes an effort to know about her subject before she goes on air. Moron city FFS.

Hard to believe some of the love on here. Balding learnt everything she knows from Inverdale on 5-Live. Both are basically sound bite presenters and both have fallen foul of the embarrassing insult on air.
