Your point is just 1 of many.

Probably Germany's biggest mistakes:

#1 Germany's war economy was totally incompetent compared to the Allies and Soviet Union.
#2 Not adopting any allies in campaign against Russia (which they could have).
#3 Tactically inept. Not prioritising Moscow. Constantly diluting offences with multiple prong attacks.
#4 Declaring war on the USA.

Battle of Britain was also just a waste of time from Germany's point of view, and a diversion from what they should have been doing (given their goals), using up valuable resources.

the theme of tonight is building bridges. you shouldn't be arguing about a war from 70-75 years ago imo.

Germany had no obligation to declare war on the USA. And Roosevelt would have struggled to get war with Germany to pass through Congress.

WW2 is my specialist topic btw. I've just always been kind of super afraid to discuss it.

For all the wars germany started and land it invaded, it's ended up being only the 7th biggest by land mass and 2nd biggest by population with substantial number of immigrants which couldn't be more ironic, so much for cleansing, @dolf would be turning in his grave

Not like the UK which had built a massive glorious Empire they easily did cling onto to this day.

I didn't say this anywhere?

I massively shortened my points otherwise it's just an essay.

Point #2 means Germany could have easily adopted countries like Ukraine, who absolutely hated Stalin to fight on their side. Ukraine was resource rich as well. Instead Germany were obsessed with Nazi ideology, which quickly made Ukraine, the Baltic states realise no matter how bad Stalin was, Hitler was way worse. This had a knock on effect of not only throwing away people and resources who could have contributed to Germany's war effort. But made people actively sabotage Germany's war effort, and when these countries were later re-conquered by the Soviet Union, a load of battle hardened partisans ready to fight Germany.

in ukraine german spies were operating long before WW2 (especially western ukraine). and they made some allies among ukrainian nationalists there. didn't help them a lot though.

so it's not really correct to say that they were not trying to make allies
