Poor PH Herbert - had pain 20 minutes before. Was bleeding. Felt dizzy. "Maybe the worst 20 minute of my life on court."

Is there any point where a doctor will step in and forbid a player from playing or is it always up to the player? Peeing blood sounds kind of scary.

There's no real system like this, as the player is ultimately responsible for themselves (as opposed to a team sport).

Obviously they will be advised to do things, but for sure players have not listened to advice before (Serena has openly admitted this I think during AO 2013).

Whereas when you are representing an organisation, you will have to be medically cleared to play.

First set was what you'd expect (routine). 2nd set was high standard. Always seemed inevitable.

Reporter asks Serena if she's ever gotten a hindrance call before. Laughter erupts on all sides. "Do you follow tennis?" —Serena. #AusOpen

I don't if there should be some system for that, but we could have had a scary situation at that AO final where Li fell and hit her head, if she would have had a concussion but insisted on playing on since it was a Slam final. It's not like the player can think clearly at that point (and yes, I know that's an extreme example).

I'm not sure what it's like in Sweden but the concussion issue is one that at least in the UK (and I assume we're not the only ones) are miles behind say the USA.

We've had players play on through concussion here. In fact you even saw it away from the UK in the World Cup final last year.
