I don't think it is worth very much tbh imo, as turnovers aren't impossible

yep i get that, so they might not score on the first posession anyway..but they still have first posession so first chance at getting a 2 or a 3

obviously it must vary with teams too..a team shooting a higher % starting with the ball would be worth more?

no easy wya to collect data for it either..beyond going through gamne after game and looking at p;lay by play

if you are looking at backing teams based on them having first possession of ball, thats ok, what you could factor in to that is look for teams with a poor turnover ratio maybe and back against them when they do not start off with possession ?
